Cold process soap making is the traditional method of making soap by combining fat or oil (Bath Box Co uses plant based oils and fats) with sodium hydroxide lye and then blending in fragrance or essential oils, colorants or natural additives as desired.  This causes a chemical reaction called saponification, which can take up to 48 hours, and creates what we know as soap. Because the ingredients in cold process soaps are not heated, this allows them to conserve their beneficial and natural properties. This type of soap is also less aggressive because of the surgras present. The skin retains its hydrolipidic film after having been washed with it, which gives it extra hydration and protection. And as an added bonus they can be designed in a multitude of ways creating soap that is as stunning as it is affective. 

Cold process soaps need to go through a curing process. Prior to packaging, Bath Box Co CP soaps cure for a minimum of 4 weeks. What does this do? The curing process will allow the excess water in the soap to evaporate, the fatty acid chains to fully develop and the bar to harden. This makes sure you have a longer lasting bar of soap that doesn't feel harsh on the skin.  

The current processing time is 1-3 business days depending on the timing and type of order placed. Orders go out 2-3 times a week. Please make sure you have submitted the correct shipping information. Bath Box Co is not liable for the shipping cost of items that are lost or returned due to incorrect shipping information provided by the customer.  The package will be resent once the shipping has been paid in full by the customer a second time.
